Katherine Farenkopf is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois who helps individuals and families navigate life's transitions and challenges. She earned her Master of Social Work from Boston College and has worked in community agencies supporting clients through a wide range of experiences.
Katherine's approach is client-centered, evidence-based, empathetic, and trauma-informed. She works with children ages 4 and older, teens, adults, and parents. Her areas of focus include trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, social skill building, behavioral concerns, relationship challenges, and family conflict.
Katherine strives to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel understood and supported. She sees her role as a supportive passenger on each client's journey while the client remains in control of the destination.
When she is not in session, Katherine can usually be found with a creative project in hand, including watercolor painting, crocheting, or knitting. She also enjoys cozy video games, collecting sports cards, and spending time with her husband and their Mini Aussie, Rocket.
